Fri, March 8th 9-5pm and Sat, March 9th ~ 9am-1pm.
This one and a half day workshop will combine etched metal and the hydraulic press to make a few funky cuff bracelets!
First, we will focus on the art and science of etching to create beautiful designs and patterns on metal. There will be several different designs available for you to choose from in class. For this workshop we won't be using your artwork but will discuss the process for transferring your own designs to metal for future exploration.
Second, we'll cut the blank and then use the hydraulic press to form our etched metal into cuff bracelets.
You can expect to complete two etched cuffs in brass, copper or sterling silver. This workshop is great for all skill levels. Please bring a lunch for the first day.
This class requires an extensive amount of time to set-up and take down as well as proper disposal of used chemicals. Please use common sense, wear comfortable studio clothes, close-toed shoes and tie all hair back. Please wear safety glasses and gloves when required in class (provided for your use).
Registration includes 1 base metal bracelet blank in either copper or brass. Extra base metal blanks $5 or bring your own base metal or sterling silver in 18g. Sterling silver blanks available for purchase as well.
Cancellations with less than a 48 hour notice will not be credited or refunded.
