Bezel Settings for Odd Shapes
2-Day Workshop: Friday and Saturday, March 1st & 2nd, 10-4pm
Bring your favorite rough gems, sea glass, lake pebbles or found objects to class and learn how to design and fabricate a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry such as a pendant, pair of earrings, ring or brooch.
Class will start with a short review of the basic bezel and then move on to designing a piece of jewelry around the stone or object you bring to class. Each stone will present it’s own challenges based on size, height and shape. Sarah will work with you one-on-one to help develop a plan best suited for your stones/object.
Gain insight into each unique situation from other students in class while executing a setting that works for your stone/object. Demonstrations will focus on bezel fabrication, stabilizing the stone inside the setting, fabricating a bail, ring shank or ear wires, as well as fine-tuning and polishing your piece.
Limited seats. This class is not for the beginner. Students should have basic bezel fabrication experience and/or MS2 as a prereq. Additional stones will be available to purchase or check out Etsy for rough stones and start your collection today. Sterling silver materials can be purchased as needed or bring your own. Email us for a list of suggested materials.
Cancellations with less than a 72 hour notice will not be refunded or credited.
